Randy's Corner (Updated 2/1/07)
Lutheran Church of the Redeemer is truly a place where Jesus
is made known and God's love actively touches people's lives. In our hectic
world today, it's easy to feel out of touch with others and even with God. In
all that we do and say at Redeemer and our community, we want others to know
Jesus our Savior. In our worship, in our fellowship activities, in our
teaching, in our outreach and service, in our caring ministries and in all
things, we want individuals young and old to feel, be embraced by, and be
changed by God's caring love. As a congregation we accept the teachings of Scripture to be authoritative, understanding them in terms of law and Gospel. The Law condems sin and shows our need of a savior, while the Gospel gives and offers us the riches of God's grace for Christ's sake alone. The wealth of God's love comes to us through the messsage of the Gospel and the administration of the Sacraments, which we receive through faith alone. Thus, the three pillars of our church remain, the Scriptures alone, by grace alone, and through faith alone; these provide us with a stable and sure foundation for our faith and life. The expression of our faith is lived out in our personal lives, and is witnessed in our worship. As a people we are far from perfect, yet we in Christ have found a perfect God who loves us and forgives us. We are a forgiven people who love because Jesus first loved us. We admit that we often fail to reach the high goals which we may set for ourselves, but God's word of forgiveness and encouragement motivate us to continue to serve Him and His people to the best of our ability. I am honored to serve God and to carry our ministry with the people of Redeemer. Within the walls of this parish you will find a loving and caring community of forgiven and redeemer sinners. I welcome you to explore the avenues that we offer for Christian service and fellowship. In Christ, Randy J. Schlak, Senior Pastor |
