                                                                                Youth

Our primary goal is to lead young people to Christ, and enhance their walk with their savior. We also give them the skills and the support group they need to make wise decisions at this critical time in their lives.

Jr. High
This program is in coordination with the confirmation program and works with 6th, 7th and 8th graders. The backbone is a series of events such as retreats and lock-ins and community service projects that offer spiritual growth mixed with fun and social recreation. Sr. High
This ministry offers a wide range of programs to meet the needs of Redeemer’s Sr. High members, and to reach out into our schools in an effort to spread Christ’s word. We recognize that each member comes with a different degree of spiritual maturity, and seeks to develop that maturity, as well as an identity as one of Christ’s own, in each individual through one-on-one relationships. The entire group meets weekly, offering bible study, community service, and social recreation events. Small bible study and leadership groups meet during the week at church and in schools. The Sr. High ministry is intertwined with the Mexicali and Camp programs as explained below.

Redeemer Summer Camp
Now in it’s 35th year, Redeemer Summer Camp is one of Redeemer’s most successful programs in terms of internal Christian Education and Evangelism. In recent years as much as half of the campers are NOT members of Redeemer. This is a wonderful chance to spread the good news of Christ’s love and salvation to His children. Campers spend a week in a rustic outdoors setting enjoying all sorts of camping activities such as crafts, boating, fishing, hayrides, games, campfires, etc. combined with bible study, worship and singing, all in a safe, Christian environment. Counselors are picked from the ranks of Redeemer’s College students, most of whom are former campers. Counselors-in-training are generally the same people as participate in the Sr. High Youth program.

Mexicali
Mexicali is a mission trip open to Sr. High students at least 15 years of age, and in at least the 10th grade. It is a ten day trip to a poverty stricken village in Mexico where students lead a VBS style program for the village children. The program is always a life changing event for the students who attend, as well as solid mission work. The program has grown to include a ministry to the village women, and has over the years managed to underwrite a large portion of the village’s new church.  Click here to see the most recent mission-trip pics.
