Registration
is Different this year!
Redeemer Summer Kamp is moving to a new mail-in
registration process. You will no longer need to come to church
on the first Sunday in June. Simply fill out the registration
form and send it in with payment. Registration materials will
be mailed back to you. Registration forms will be available
starting March 1, 2008. Registration forms will be mailed to
your house if you went to Kamp last year. They will also be
available a the Information Center inside the West Entrance, and
online, right here - all starting March 1, 2008. You may mail
the registration form with payment to the church, or drop it
off, anytime after March 1. Registration forms received without
payment will not be processed. You should receive a receipt and
other paperwork by May 30, 2008.

I Wanna go
to Michawana!!
|
An exciting
change is coming our way this year
- a new camp! We are
moving to Camp Michawana, a beautiful, Christ-centered
camp west of Lansing. Camp Michawana gives our growing
program several advantages in increased capacity and
up-to-date facilities.
Here is a summary of advantages:
+ Beautiful
setting of rolling hills on a wonderful lake
+ The lake is
great for swimming, canoeing, paddleboats, and fishing.
It has a nice sandy bottom, nice sandy beach, and a dock
you can dive from! Campers will love taking paddleboats
out on the lake!
+ Large modern
dining hall so our entire camp can eat at the same time,
instead of in shifts. We have become used to eating in
shifts, but it will be so much nicer to all eat
together. (And a modern kitchen always means
better food!)
+ Awesome
climbing tower! Campers are going to love this
high adventure activity - and there is no extra charge.
It's all included.
+ Miniature golf
course! (How cool is that?)
+ Brand new High
Ropes Challenge Course currently under construction!
Many families have told us that they want this, and it's
one of the Big reasons we are moving to Michawana.
Skyline has no plans to build one. Michawana's will be
ready for our use in 2008.
+ Increased
capacity
- no more turning campers away at registration
because we are full! It kills us to turn away
campers at registration, but no longer will we run out
of beds at the camp. We can also now encourage
campers to bring friends!
+ Christ centered
camp and staff that understands our program and our
goals.

I sent my Registration
Form in, but haven't received a receipt or any paperwork back
yet!
+
You should receive a receipt
and other paperwork by May 30, 2008. I apologize for the
fact that I won't be able to send out recepts and paperwork
prior to May 30. Please understand that I am at the
seminary in St. Louis. I will return in mid-May and take
care of it all then. In future years, I'll get receipts
mailed back to you more quickly.
Questions and Comments
Although I am at the
seminary in St. Louis, I very much welcome your questions and
comments. Please call me or send me an Email!
My Cell phone:

I can't wait for Kamp!!!!
Mark Wuggazer
What
activities are included? Swimming, crafts, games,
campfires, climbing wall, miniature golf, hikes, boating, fishing, archery, hayrides, and more!!! Please make
sure that first time campers are aware that this is a bible camp, and we mix
fun and games with bible study and worship. Our counselors are really good at
making bible study fun and cool!
What is this year's theme?
1 John 4:7
"Dear friends, Let us love one another, for love comes from
God."
This year's theme
is Friends! We will learn about God’s unconditional love, and
how it was modeled on earth by Jesus Christ, who invited
everyone to be his friend. Campers will learn how God’s
unconditional love can be applied to their lives and
friendships.
Who May Attend?
Campers must be going
into the third grade through the ninth grade, and not be older than 14 years
old as of August 2, 2008. Non-Redeemer members are welcome!
What is the cost? $315
per camper, payable in full with mailed registration. The $315 fee
is non-refundable. The fee includes all activities,
including the climbing wall. Unlike many camps who make lots of
extra money selling t-shirts and candy to kids at camp, there is
nothing more to buy at Kamp. All snacks and a t-shirt are
included. Camperships: Application for campership should be made by
speaking directly to the Director, Mark Wuggazer prior to May 11, 2008 at
248-767-4649, or
Email. No
camperships will be granted after May 11, 2008.
Can I pick my cabin? The best way to
ensure that you are in the same cabin with a specific friend is to register
together. No commitment to cabin buddies is made by the camp staff, but we do
our best!
Can I send my 2nd or
3rd grader for two nights? Our Explorers program allows
kampers going into 2nd and 3rd grade to come to Kamp for the first two nights
(or any two nights they choose, subject to availability) and go home on the
third day. This program is based on availability, with priority going to
kampers staying the whole week. Therefore, Explorers cannot register
prior to June 1. Explorers must register by mail or drop-off
anytime after June 1.
Staff
Applications are now available on the wall outside
Wuggie's office. Deadline is May 17, 2008. Sorry, CITs and first year counselors
cannot download the application, because we want you to use our original form.
But if you
send Wuggie an Email asking
really nicely, I bet he'd mail you one. Returning Counselors can
download this application and send it in!
