Acolytes
& Crossbearers

The Acolyte program at Redeemer is a
volunteer program of students, from 6th grade through high school. The acolytes
light the sanctuary candles for all services during the regular church year
(September through Memorial Day). The program includes also crossbearers and,
for special occasions, banner and flag bearers. Sixth grade students begin
serving this program in conjunction with their confirmation training.
Confirmands are required to serve this program at least three times per year
(two times per year for 6th graders), and receive one hour of service credit
for each time they serve. The annual schedule is posted below for review, but
actual sign-up must be done on the original sign-up sheet, which is posted on
the volunteer bulletin board (outside the gym).
