WESTMAPLE NURSERY SCHOOL
Teaching the children of this community since 1950
Classes are held Monday-Friday from 9 to 11:55 am from September through May.
Westmaple is located in the education wing of Redeemer with 5 classrooms serving 110 children ages 2 ½ - 6 years over a 5 day period with a maximum of 102 children in attendance every day. The student to teacher ratio varies due to the age of the children. We abide by all state regulations, therefore the student to teacher ratio can range between 8 to 1 to 11 to 1, depending on the classroom.
Please call Pat Raezler, Director of Westmaple Nursery School, at 248-646-5155 if you have any questions or would like to schedule a visit. We enroll a maximum of 77 children.
Westmaple welcomes children of all ethnic backgrounds and religious preferences, but we are a distinctly Christian School.
Mission: Westmaple Nursery Schools recognizes that all children are created in the image of God. Therefore, through a Christ-centered environment of love, laughter and learning we are dedicated to developing within each child the spiritual, emotional, intellectual and physical growth appropriate for our preschool children. Westmaple Nursery School is where the journey begins.
Vision: Westmaple Nursery School is grounded in the knowledge that Jesus loved ad valued little children. In Mark 10:14b it is written: "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them for the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it. And he took the children in His arms, put His hands on them and blessed them." So, like Jesus, we too put our arms around our children and love them. Through play, instruction ad story time we will teach our children that laughter and learning go hand in hand. Westmaple Nursery School is where the journey begins for their academic and formal religious training.
Philosophy: Based on the Scriptural truth that "We love because He first loved us" (1 John 4:19), Westmaple Nursery School's basic philosophy is love. We seek to develop each child to his and her fullest potential of growth spiritually, emotionally and intellectually. All our steps are guided by our faith in Jesus Christ.

What our parents have said about our school
What I like most about the school:
“The warm, nurturing, loving, Christian environment. This school seems to be a magnet for families who share our values. We’ve made many life-long friends throughout our 4 years at Westmaple. I love how happy my children are here... and how sad they are to leave!”
“Absolutely everything! The amazing progression of the teachers and how each Room adds something unique and wonderful to the children’s experience here.”
“The safe learning environment, the Christian teaching, and a staff that sincerely cares for each child.”
“The warm and welcoming environment. You can feel love from everyone. A strong community feel. I enjoy the cohesiveness between teachers, family, staff, and pastors.”
“I really can’t think of anything I would change about the program. My daughter is way ahead of my other two were at this age. I am really impressed with how programs academically and spiritually as well. It was my other two kids should have been at Westmaple.”
“I love Westmaple. The program is by far the best I have seen. As a past educator, I feel Westmaple is a very strong program with a good balance in every aspect. I will miss everyone next year. Thank you for everything.”
“LOVE IT! I think Westmaple is, by far, the best preschool in the area.”
“Westmaple feels like a family. Students, teachers, and parents are loved and respected for being individuals, unique and wonderful! it is a perfect place to begin venturing off into the world. Students discover, “I am loved”. “I am special”. “I can do it”. I love school!”
“When “my baby” was ready to begin school this year, I was not ready for her to go. I sent her because I knew she would benefit more from her experience at Westmaple those two days than she would with me. I could not say this about any other program! :)”
“It’s so nice to walk in and feel at home even not being a member of Redeemer. Our girls love Westmaple.”
