Visitors

Q: Can anyone come to worship?
A: Yes, absolutely! Our services and bible studies are open to all. We would love to have you worship with us. Also, take time to introduce yourself to a pastor and be sure to grab a welcome bag filled with items that will help you get to know us.

Q: What should I wear?
A: There is no set dress code, but you are entering the house of God and your attire should reflect a higher level of respect. Typically anything from work casual or dressier is appropriate.

Q: How do I join?
A: Twice a year we offer New Member classes. This is a chance for those interested, or simply curious in knowing more about Redeemer to gather for six weeks to learn about Lutheran doctrine, worship and core beliefs. It also enables you to get to know the Pastors and staff on a personal basis. At the conclusion of the six weeks, it is up to you whether you are ready to join or wish to explore further. If you are currently a Missouri Synod Lutheran, you can transfer in at any time and be celebrated officially when the New Member class is formally brought into membership during a worship service.

Q: Does Redeemer baptize?
A: Yes. We never turn away an opportunity for a baptism. We believe that in baptism God the Holy Spirit makes His home within our hearts. We would never deny anyone this opportunity. To schedule, call the church office at 248- 644-4010.

Q: Does Redeemer do non-member weddings?
A: Yes. We are always pleased when people want to speak their vows in the house of God. We also have counseling available. Call Pastor Randy for further information at 248-644-4010.

Q: How is Redeemer involved in the community?
A: Check out our page on Ministries We Support for more information.

First Time Visitors Information

When you visit Lutheran Church of the Redeemer for the first time you will be greeted at the door by a Redeemer member or family. Upon entering the sanctuary the usher will hand you a bulletin that will serve as your guide during the worship service. In it you will find the order of the service, the songs, the readings and the sermon topic.

In the pew you will find our Lutheran hymnal along with a guest register that is passed along during the offering. Inside the guest register will be a card where you can fill out your name and address and a place where you can indicate if you are first time visitor. Also on the card is a statement of our belief regarding Holy Communion. At Redeemer, all who agree with our statement of belief about Holy Communion are welcome to the Lord's Table.

At the conclusion of our services you will find a pastor at both exits greeting the congregation. Please introduce yourself and take an information bag that is filled with items to give you more information on Redeemer.

Don't forget to stop in during coffee hour that is offered between the 9 am and 10:30 am services. It's a great place to meet new people and observe the friendly, relaxed camaraderie that is enjoyed by Redeemer's congregation.
